Paris Authorities Investigate Attempted Abduction Targeting Crypto CEO’s Family
Parisian law enforcement has initiated a criminal probe following a brazen daylight kidnapping attempt involving the daughter of a prominent cryptocurrency executive. The incident occurred mere blocks from the Palais de Justice, Paris’s central courthouse, underscoring the audacity of the attack.
Surveillance footage captured the May 12 assault, showing masked assailants attempting to force the Paymium exchange CEO’s daughter into a waiting van. Her companion sustained blows while protecting their child during the struggle. The assailants fled when a bystander intervened with a fire extinguisher.
While authorities withhold identities, French media confirms the victim’s connection to Paymium, a Paris-based digital asset exchange founded in 2011. The exchange maintains a boutique operation compared to global competitors, specializing in Bitcoin-Euro trading pairs.
